Membership Requirements
Membership Requirements
Membership of AIMP is open to individuals, professionals, organisations and institutions that satisfy the academic, professional and practical requirements prescribed by the Council.
1. Membership Categories
Student Member
A person undergoing studies in Applied Information Management or a related discipline may be admitted as a Student Member.
Graduate Member
A graduate of an approved institution possessing qualifications recognised by the Council may be admitted as a Graduate Member.
Associate Member
A person who has successfully completed the prescribed professional examinations and fulfilled other requirements may be admitted as an Associate Member.
Full Member
An Associate Member who has acquired the prescribed professional experience and satisfies the requirements of the Council may be admitted as a Full Member.
Senior Member
The Council may confer Senior Membership upon a member who has demonstrated distinguished professional competence and leadership.
Fellow
A Fellow shall have been a Full Member for the prescribed period, made outstanding contributions to the profession and satisfied other conditions prescribed by the Council.
Honorary Fellow
The Council may confer Honorary Fellowship upon a distinguished person who has contributed significantly to national development or the advancement of Applied Information Management.
Corporate Member
Companies, government agencies, institutions and organisations may be admitted as Corporate Members under conditions prescribed by the Council.
Institutional Member
Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education, Research Institutes and Professional Bodies may be admitted as Institutional Members.
Distinguished Professional Member
Distinguished professionals may be admitted under such qualifications, experience and conditions as may be prescribed by the Council.
2. General Qualification Requirements
Admission into any category of membership is subject to the applicant satisfying the academic, professional, practical experience and other requirements prescribed by the Governing Council for that category.
Professional Examination
Applicants may be required to successfully complete the professional examinations and assessments prescribed for their membership category.
Professional Experience
Professional experience may be required for progression into higher membership categories such as Full Membership, Senior Membership and Fellowship.
3. Application Documents
Completed membership applications should be submitted together with the required supporting documents.
- Completed membership application form
- Photocopies of relevant academic and professional credentials
- Curriculum Vitae
- One passport size photograph
- Other supporting documents that may be required for the selected membership category
4. Membership Application
Membership Form and Application Fee
Membership forms may be obtained from the Association's corporate office, coordinating unit offices or downloaded from the official AIMP website.

Membership applications can be processed through the Association's corporate office, coordinating offices or by obtaining the membership form from the AIMP website.
Obtain the Form
Obtain a membership form from an AIMP office or download it from www.aimp.org.ng.
Prepare Documents
Complete the form and attach copies of your credentials, Curriculum Vitae and passport photograph.
Submit Application
Submit the completed application with the prescribed ₦10,000 application payment to the Association.
